Logos

A special mention is approprate for the new logo of the Laboratory, which is presented at the top of the website. In its circumference is mentioned the full title of the Laboratory, while in its center there is an artistic view of Herophilos who is considered the "father" of Anatomy, due to his important discoveries and the realization of the first dissections in history. Herophilus lived in the Hellenistic period and together with Erasistratus founded the famous for its time, Medical School of Alexandria (Alexandria Museum). To create the logo, two important artists collaborated, the painter Stratigoula Giannikopoulou and the visual artist Pagona Kanellou in collaboration with the graphic designer Alexandros Aslanis. The logos of the School of Medicine and the University of Crete are creations of the distinguished sculptor Aspasia Papadoperakis.
